It is typically blue-green with brown/black veins of matrix running through it that are composed mainly of copper deposits.  Turquoise has been prized by many civilizations throughout history - ancient Egyptians, Chinese Dynasties, Aztec Mythology and Native American people were all known to cherish and wear Turquoise in various ways, shapes & forms.
