Unakite is a type of metamorphic rock that consists primarily of two minerals: pink orthoclase feldspar and green epidote. It gets its name from the Unaka Mountain range in Tennessee, USA, where it was first discovered. Unakite is also known by other names such as Epidotized Granite and Unakite Granite.

• The pink color in Unakite comes from orthoclase feldspar, while the green color is due to the presence of epidote. The combination of these minerals creates the unique mottled or speckled appearance that is characteristic of Unakite. Sometimes, small amounts of other minerals such as quartz or mica can also be present in Unakite.
